Pennsylvania is suing Snapchat over how it handles age verification and teen safety. The state says Snapchat is rated for users 13+, but younger users can still come across mature content involving drugs, alcohol, sex and profanity. Pennsylvania also argues that features like Snapstreaks, infinite scrolling and paid engagement features can encourage teenagers to spend more time on the platform.
