The 24-km Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, a major cross-sea transportation project that opened to traffic in June 2024 in south China's Greater Bay Area, has recently received the First Prize of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award for key technologies, equipment and applications used in the construction of its 6,845-m-long undersea tunnel, the world's longest and widest undersea steel shell-concrete immersed tube tunnel.

Today (June 19) morning, the 2026 Dragon Boat Invitation Tournament in Guangdong-HongKong-Macau Bay Area (Zhongshan) began at Shiqi in Zhongshan. Forty-five dragon boat teams from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, HongKong, Macau and other places gathered on Qijiang River. Over 1500 dragon boats athletes competed together, attracting tens of thousands of citizens along the river to watch the competition and hundreds of thousands of netizens watching on the cloud.
