China's national observatory on Sunday issued a red alert, the highest level in the country's typhoon warning system, as Typhoon Dolphin approaches. The typhoon is forecast to make landfall along the east coast from Zhoushan in Zhejiang Province to Fuding in Fujian Province, bringing torrential rains, thunderstorms and gale-force winds to multiple regions, including Fujian, Zhejiang and Shanghai, as well as Shandong, Tianjin and Beijing. China's meteorological authority has also upgraded its emergency response for severe meteorological disasters from Level III to Level II.

According to the plan issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), the industry aims to achieve world-class standards in safety, service capacity and infrastructure by 2030, while securing major breakthroughs in technological innovation, green and low-carbon development, and governance capacity. The middle route of China's South-to-North Water Diversion Project has delivered more than 80 billion cubic meters of water as of Friday, benefiting nearly 118 million residents in 27 cities, the project operator announced. The mega water transfer project, the largest of its kind globally, channels water over long distances from the country's water-rich south to its northern regions, where hundreds of millions once endured "absolute water scarcity" as defined by United Nations standards. After operating for nearly 12 years, the middle route has helped rebalance water resources, secure drinking water supplies, restore aquatic ecosystems, and reinforce national water security, according to the China South-to-North Water Diversion Corporation.

A container ship departed Qingdao Port in east China's Shandong Province for Melbourne and Sydney, Australia, on Wednesday after loading more than 1,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of cargo, including home appliances and tires.
