As the NTSB investigates the deadly NBC4 helicopter crash, former colleagues and mentors are sharing memories of reporter Eliana Moreno and pilot George Marciniw.
Moreno is being remembered as “a beautiful soul” and a passionate journalist who loved being first on the scene. Marciniw was described as an “amazing person” and a skilled pilot with years of experience.

A 22-year-old woman has been identified as the second victim who died alongside a car influencer in a fiery McLaren crash in Irvine.
Alexis “Lexi” Kramer died alongside 27-year-old James Wehr, co-founder of South OC Cars and Coffee. Police say the driver of the McLaren lost control, struck a curb and crashed into a tree.

Gov. Gavin Newsom has signed SB 1392, suitably nicknamed Leno's Law, after the most well-known car collector anywhere went to bat for changing California's smog check policy.
"Jay presented better arguments, better evidence, that these are not commute cars. That's what we're trying regulate, appropriately, is 99% of those cars that are out there on the roads 24/7. And if we start to over-regulate, we're going to lose people," said Newsom, after signing the bill in a private ceremony at Leno's massive car collection in Burbank.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office identified the two victims killed in the Metro bus crash in Chatsworth as Gage Weida, 31, and Daniel Castillo, 46.
Weida's father shared the following statement with Eyewitness News: "Gage was such a kind, caring, and selfless son with a heart of gold. Heading into work and the unimaginable happens. His mom Rachael and I, along with his brothers, sister and entire family, along with his longtime girlfriend Autumn, are still processing the loss."
Castillo's daughter tells Eyewitness News he was an amazing person.
