BREAKING: According to The New York Times, Israel operated at least two secret military outposts in Iraq’s western desert for well over a year. Planned as far back as late 2024 to support logistical operations against Iran. Washington was aware of at least one Israeli base since June 2025 but withheld the information from Baghdad. Furthermore, the U.S. actively compelled Iraq to shut down its radar systems under the guise of protecting American aircraft—a move that effectively blinded Baghdad and prevented it from detecting the hostile Israeli presence on its own soil. Even without radar, the Iraqi military’s regional command had suspected an Israeli presence. Commanders had been conducting long-distance surveillance on the sites, but when they pressed their U.S. counterparts for information, their requests were met with silence.
