2-n) The Voice of Dr. Yan Ep77 • In 2022, as the leading scientist collaborating with PLA’s Academy of Military Medical Sciences (AMMS), Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Wuhan Institute of Virology, Qiu published an article about a new type of nano-neutralizing antibody against both SARS1 and SARS2 on Cell Discovery. • It says, “This study expands the arsenal against SARS-CoV-1, provides potential therapeutic and prophylactic candidates that fully cover major SARS-CoV-2 variants, and may offer a simple preventive approach against Omicron and its subvariants.” • This project was granted by two National Science Foundation of China (#32100745# and #31870731#) and a foundation from Anhui province. • However, to cover up her identity, Qiu uses the name “Sandra Chiu” at authorship, and her affiliation is the Division of Life Sciences and Medicine, University of Science and Technology of China. Though her email “qiux@ustc.edu.cn” reveals Qiu’s real name. • It seems Qiu never used “Sandra Chiu” in her previous publications until she left the Canadian lab. Her first article using Sandra Chiu most likely starts in 2021, which partially explains her “unknown whereabouts” in the academy. • To note, there are no results if searching “Sandra Chiu” or her Chinese name, Xiangguo Qiu, on the website of the University of Science and Technology of China. • Full article & broadcast👇🏻
