BREAKING: X is doing away with their current Revenue Sharing Program. The old Revenue Sharing program is being retired on September 7 and replaced with a new “Original Content Rewards” program. Here’s the biggest difference: New Revenue Sharing Program: • The entry requirement drops dramatically to just 500,000 Home Timeline impressions from verified users over 90 days. • You still need 500 verified followers and Premium. • But now ONLY “qualified impressions” on ORIGINAL content generate payouts. A qualified impression means: → A UNIQUE view from a Premium user → On their Home Timeline → With at least 50% of your post visible Repeated views from the same person don’t count. Paid, promoted, artificial or fraudulent impressions don’t count. And perhaps the biggest change: X is explicitly cracking down on accounts that make money by reposting other people’s content. Copied posts, downloaded/reuploaded videos, lightly edited clips, compilations and aggregated content with little original contribution will NOT generate qualified impressions. However, commentary DOES count. So if you post a news clip and actually analyze it, explain it, react to it or add your own meaningful perspective, X says that can qualify as original content. Basically, X is shifting from: “Get huge engagement and verified views” to: “Get Premium users to view content that YOU actually created or meaningfully transformed.” They are also banning engagement farming. Repeatedly telling people to like, repost, reply, bookmark or follow can jeopardize your monetization. Payouts will still happen every two weeks with a $30 minimum. Existing creators continue earning under the old system through September 7, receive their final payout around September 11, and then will have to APPLY for the new program. Original creators and people who add real commentary may benefit. Pure aggregation/repost accounts could get absolutely crushed.
