🚨Trump meets with Gulf leaders on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly to discuss Iran. Yet Israel—the regional power that has directly demonstrated significant military capability against Iran—is not at the table. Several of these countries have struggled even to protect their own critical infrastructure from Iranian or Iranian-backed attacks. At the same time, Israel has shown both the capability and willingness to strike directly at Iran and absorb the consequences. The UAE has played an important regional security role, but if the discussion is about confronting Iran and shaping the region’s security architecture, excluding Israel is a glaring omission.
