2 years ago Matt did an episode entitled “There is an undeniable link between SSRI’s and mass shootings” (link below) You don’t get to argue that psychiatric drugs may help explain seemingly inexplicable violence in one context, then declare it monstrous to even consider that possibility in another. You can believe what she did was horrific, believe she may bear some legal responsibility, and still think her mental state and treatment history matter enormously when trying to understand how it happened. She’s either going to be found guilty and sentenced to life in prison or NG by reason of insanity and go right back to the mental health institution she’s been in for 3 years. The death penalty isn’t on the table. Although I’m sure she wishes it was.
