we just shipped interactive onboarding on agentic(.)market simulated terminal walks you through what x402 actually feels like. wallet check, service discovery, payment, results. in this demo the agent finds an a16z article behind a paywall, pays dripstack $0.01 in USDC, and pulls back a summary. no subscription, no API key, no credit card. when you're ready to try for real, copy the SKILL.md and paste into codex, claude, hermes, whatever you're building with.

1997: HTTP 402 “Payment Required” gets reserved in the spec. then nothing. for 28 years. 2025: x402 ships. the 28 year wait ends. 2026: 169M transactions. 600k agents. 100k sellers. Coinbase, Shopify, Stripe, Cloudflare, Google, AWS, Visa all building on it. now stewarded by the Linux Foundation. happy birthday to the protocol that fixed the internet’s original sin: real money moving over real HTTP 🎂

i got a better breakdown of the SpaceX/Cursor deal than any single article i've read. cost me $0.01 and 90 seconds. the web was built to keep bots out. paywalls, CAPTCHAs, OAuth. so when your agent tries to research something, it hits walls everywhere. browsed agentic(.)market this morning, found @ExaAILabs on the services leaderboard. neural web search, pay per query, no account needed. pointed my agent at it in Claude Code. one query. $0.01. 10 full articles from Reuters, CNBC, Bloomberg, TechCrunch, NYT. what it found: SpaceX didn't acquire Cursor. they secured a $60B call option, exercisable by year-end, with a $10B breakup fee. the real motivation per Bloomberg: xAI lags in coding and Musk wants to catch up to Claude Code and Codex. this is an xAI play wearing SpaceX's jersey for the IPO. full walkthrough in the video (which is longer than the e2e research exercise!)
