The U.S. has welcomed a new agreement between Iraq and Syria to rehabilitate and reconstruct the Iraq–Syria crude oil pipeline, describing it as a strategically significant infrastructure project.
The project, supported by a U.S.-led international consortium, is expected to initially transport up to 2 million barrels of crude oil per day once completed.
