The Hofstadter book looked at periods of anti-intellectualism in America, some of the years during Jacksonian Democracy between 1830-60, the KKK and anti-evolution in the 1920s, McCarthy era late 1940s to 50s. It’s safe to say we are in one of those periods. Today’s White House antivaccine anti-science EO = anti-intellectualism’s best representation
