Indie shooter developers Double Eleven have pulled a reverse-Concord with their game Blindfire.
No one played the game so they made it free to play and are keeping the servers online indefinitely anyway.
The devs wrote in a message to players that âWe failed on our terms, and weâre proud of that.â
âBlindfire didnât blow up. It didnât top charts. But it meant everything to the team who made it,â wrote the devs. âInstead of shutting it down, weâve made Blindfire free for everyone.
Not as a marketing stunt. Not as a desperate last push. But because we believe creative work matters, even when it doesnât go viral.â
