CBS and Bari Weiss may have created their own biggest competitor. Reports say journalists fired from 60 Minutes are planning to reunite with former exec. producer Bill Owens working bring on Scott Pelley, and other former correspondents/producers. This is how you do it.
That was also true in 1880 of 1930 because nyc has always had the same high percent of immigrants. You just don’t care because they were whites.
They used the same talking points though!!
Nearly 40% of children in New York State are foreign-born or the children of migrants. Of that group, about 85% are migrants from the third world. The education debate (like so many others) often disguises the real debate.
Yes yes and fucking yes @NYCMayor
I’ve been begging Dems to do this in every speech I’ve ever given for the past decade.
And no. This is not bc he’s a mayor in nyc. This is the story swing voters need to hear.
They deserve to know where all their money went.
Zohran Mamdani:
We’re not running away from the Democratic Party. We’re going back to what the party used to be.
You think about FDR and LaGuardia. You think about the New Deal. That’s what the Democratic Party once was. That’s what it could be again.
And if we want to win, I think that’s what we have to become.
🇺🇸 Vance unloaded on Michigan Dem. candidate Abdul El Sayed: the guy claims to fight for working people but opposed Trump’s moves that helped save the state’s auto industry.
He also called him out for going personal against his family rather than debating solutions., labeling him (El Sayed) an odd guy whose vision is really about heavy taxes feeding Democratic interest groups, not rebuilding a strong middle class where families can thrive on solid manufacturing jobs.
If your best campaign policy is being against the VP... not the best call.

This I can live with.
Uncommitted sentenced the entire country, esp brown and black people, to a fascist autocracy that we may never be able to end.
That’s why I’m sensitive about the Gaza shit @academic_la
In 2024 everyone in the Democratic Party was wrong. The establishment was wrong for putting forth such an uninspiring ticket and the noncommitted were wrong for undermining Harris after she was nominated and we ended up with Trump. Please don't repeat this. Unite behind all our candidates and offer America real policies. What matters is beating Trump, not beating each other.
@RachelBitecofer The bigger question we ought to be asking is why does someone like Piker have such a huge following among younger voters. This rising generation of 20-somethings are deeply attracted to anti-system nihilistic policies, hence why they were also curious about MAGA.
As a person who begins and ends every single second of every single day of my life in chronic pain for 30 years I really love this story.
FDR had the same problem
JFK kept rocking chairs in the Oval Office, the residence, and aboard Air Force One. They were prescribed, not decorative. In my latest op-ed, I write about the pain behind Camelot and the symptoms his doctors could not explain:
🇺🇸🇮🇷 Bessent just said the Strait of Hormuz is basically getting demoted from "world's most critical chokepoint" to "random body of water" within 2 years
The plan: underground pipelines handling 50-70% of what currently moves through it, making Iran's favorite leverage play useless.
Think about what Iran loses here. Their single biggest geopolitical trump card, gone.

Initially I didn’t include the 14% of respondents unable to even figure out what an ideology is in the graph bc it’s a huge number but now I realize it’s probably one of the most important things I could teach you about how civically dumb we are.
I realize I’m not as smart about how elections and voter behavior work as you are, but I do want to point out this very important reality of the American electorate.
El-Sayed: Now Mike, I'm just going to remind you: if you don't know how to say the name, keep the name out your damn mouth. Or just call me Abdul. But I got some opinions about his name. See, it's very fitting for him: Rogers.
Cause that's his answer every time a corporation or Donald Trump tells him to do something.
"Mike, we need you to put a data center in the backyard." — "Roger!"
"Mike, we need you to hike their prescription drug prices." — "Roger!"
"Mike, we need you to rubber-stamp this war we shouldn't be fighting." — "Roger!"
"Mike" — and this one's Donald Trump — "I need you to lick these boots." — "Roger!"
And I think—I think I speak for all of us here in Michigan when I say that we are done with Rogers. Go back to Florida where you belong!

So do all of us @hasanthehun but only you think Hamas and Mao are nice people.
What you describe is American liberalism.
What you say on your show….is not
Hasan Piker: “I don’t just want to defeat Republicans and ensure they stay away from a seat of power. I also want to make tangible changes that people can feel. I want to help materially improve the lives of the working class in this country and around the world. It’s about reinstalling confidence in good governance with the left flank. That’s why I love Zohran. He has delivered results for his constituents”
Hasan Piker, sitting at a table with an LGBTQ+ flag, says: “Overall, my favorite flag is Hezbollah.”
This is progressivism today—a guy in a tank top, in the West, praising a terror group that executes gay people, right in front of a pride flag.
