Last year at this time, Health and Human Services Secretary Kennedy terminated 22 mRNA research contracts worth $500 million. Same cost as Trump’s gifted Qatari plane.
Today, Merck and Moderna announced that an experimental breakthrough vaccine treatment — developed through mRNA research previously funded by NIH — has shown signs of preventing cancer from returning or spreading in a study of high-risk melanoma patients.
Thank god the NIH funded this before Kennedy and the Trump administration showed up to degrade America’s health and leadership.
Which Republican senator has the courage to tell Secretary Kennedy that his decisions are making Americans sicker and letting China take the lead on research, science, and technology?
I’ll save you the time and give you the answer: none of them.

My faith is a moral guiding principle for me — and our joint mission as Americans is to rebuild our shared faith in this country.
The President of the United States just told our allies and adversaries in the Indo-Pacific that America isn't reliable.
His words degrade America's deterrence - and our credibility.

Attorneys general from across the country agree that Meta has built an addictive and exploitative product, just like tobacco executives did 30 years ago.
The social media giants have already lost two jury trials this year.
Strike one: A $342 million penalty after a jury in New Mexico found Meta endangered children and misled the public about it.
Strike two: a Los Angeles jury found Meta and YouTube negligent for the harm their platforms caused to children.
And now, already flailing and down in the count, Meta is facing strike three: a $1.4 trillion penalty from a bipartisan group of 29 attorneys general.
What do these juries know that Congress has been unable or willing to find out? Probably that adults should be raising our adolescents, not algorithms.
It’s time to ban social media for all children under the age of 16.

When it comes to strengthening the resolve of totalitarian dictators, Donald Trump is the gift that keeps on giving.
He never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity to be small, petty, and narrow-minded when America stands for everything else.
Our friends and adversaries in the Indo-Pacific are watching and taking stock of the President’s rhetoric and actions — and shaking their heads in disbelief.

Growing up, on our family room wall hung my grandmother's little purse that held her and my two great aunts passports from 1914, and on either side, photographs of relatives who never made it to America.
It was my parents' daily reminder: you are the fortunate few — and you don't get to be frivolous with your opportunity in America.
Being an American is winning the lottery ticket of life. But for too many, the path to the middle class dream is broken.

Would you trust your life savings to this bank? Me neither.
Remember, Trump made $1.2 billion in crypto last year while everyday Americans lost billions in the crypto market. And something tells me the Trump boys and the Witkoff kid aren’t looking to stop there. The last time a scam was this obvious, Charles Ponzi was involved.
Since the regulators are captured and compromised, when will Congress wake up and investigate the most blatant corruption and cashing in on the presidency we’ve ever seen in modern times?

Houston, we have a problem. Mr. Williams is right. America is facing an education crisis.
Too many of our students cannot read or write at grade level — and both parties continue to fail them.
It is time for all of us to face the music and stop playing politics with our kids’ future.

Put aside any partisanship you might have, as the definitions of left and right are largely meaningless today, and ask yourself which policies you agree and disagree with in this All In Interview.
Excited to have him on with the entire squad in 2028 😉 if he's making any news at that time.

The problem with America’s education system is that we’ve given up on 50% of our kids by 3rd grade.
Another Election Day, another result the pollsters and the conventional wisdom misread. The DSA and the far left get the press while the pragmatists notch key wins: WI, MO, HI, VA.
The turnout surge across the South has been driven by the party's most reliable voters, not its loudest online voices. Each wing of the party knows the game's rigged for insiders at the expense of those trying to stretch every paycheck; we just disagree on the fix.
Give progressives credit for bringing ideas to the table. Pragmatists haven't been as good as we need to be about offering our own ideas and agenda. You can't beat something with nothing, and too often we're prisoners of the moment. But what these elections are showing is that the pragmatic wing isn't a faction of this party. It's the majority, it's awake now, and it's exerting itself.

Putting my DCCC political strategist hat back on for a minute, the DSA vs. normie Dem debate is overlooking an important fact. Black Democratic turnout has been surging since the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act and cleared the way for the Trump-backed redistricting wave. Louisiana, South Carolina, Alabama, Michigan, and Tennessee. When voting is not a luxury and your rights are on the line, politics stops being an Ivy League seminar — and there's no patience for faculty lounge debate. It's existential, and the national media would do well to see there's more than one story coming out of these primaries.

Yesterday, I joined Congressman
@JoshHarder to hear from local family farmers in Stockton, CA about the challenges facing their businesses and their families.
Agriculture puts about $7.5 billion into San Joaquin County’s economy each year with nearly 90% of the county’s farms being family farms. From walnuts and almonds to grapes and cherries, they’re high-quality products are sold across the country and across the globe.
But just like so many family farmers across America, they’re getting squeezed from every direction. These farmers put food on this country’s table, the least we can do is make sure Washington doesn’t leave them behind so they can make ends meet and put food on their own.

The Social Media ‘Giants’ have now faced a jury twice for the harm they are causing kids.
Two at bats. Two strikeouts. Two enormous cash penalties.
Because the evidence of the damage social media is doing to our kids is plain as day.
That’s why last year I called for a ban on all social media for kids under 16.
