As a Uyghur working on China’s human rights violations, I surprisingly agree with what they say: “This law … turns years of governance experience into a legal and institutional framework.”
But, governance experience = forced assimilation.

China’s Ethnic Unity and Progress Promotion Law will take effect on 1 July.
At a State Council Information Office press conference, officials rejected such claims as “cultural assimilation” and “forced labour”, urging critics to read the law itself and see a concrete step forward in advancing the rule of law.
