NEW: Donald Trump’s campaign to defeat one Republican Congressman has cost $32 million; the most expensive House primary in American history.
The target: Thomas Massie. The verdict comes from voters tomorrow in Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District.
The Epstein files disclosure act must have cause real damage to his friends. Imagine what else is still not released.
According to AdImpact, most of the $32 million has come from Trump-aligned groups and pro-Israel organizations; including AIPAC and the Republican Jewish Coalition, pouring millions into negative ads against Massie.
Trump’s verbatim Truth Social yesterday: “The Worst Republican Congressman in History. Kentucky, vote the bum out on Tuesday.”
He has also called Massie a “major sleazebag,” a “pathetic LOSER,” a “lightweight,” and a “sick Wacko.”
Massie’s offenses, by Trump’s own listing: voting against the “big, beautiful bill” out of debt concerns. Pushing to release the Epstein files. Refusing to support the Iran war.
The Trump-backed challenger, Ed Gallrein, was personally recruited by the president. He declined every debate. He skipped joint county events. He did not respond to NBC News.
On Sunday’s Meet the Press, Senator Lindsey Graham verbatim: “Bill Cassidy lost because he tried to destroy Trump. Massie is going to lose because he tried to destroy the agenda.”
This afternoon, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth visits Hebron, Kentucky to campaign alongside Gallrein.
Saturday: Cassidy out.
Tuesday: Massie’s primary.
Saturday after that, Trump floated a primary challenger to Boebert after she campaigned with Massie.
