The compromise already happened when the seed was generated with far less randomness than it should be. This however puts hardware wallets in the spotlight. When I first joined web3, everyone said hardware wallets are the safest way to keep your assets. I think users do realise additionally that they need to be discerning of which wallet, tech and team are keeping your assets safe.
