Building my own code review tool has been really rewarding and lets me add a bunch of little niceties I've wanted Github and Graphite to have for a long time like being able to see the breakdown in lines changed any way I want

Says something about how great the original video is that I haven't seen a single AI remix, unlike that Hotel Lobby music video ...anyways here's one featuring my brother 😅
POV: You told a rude Québécois kid who gave you grief for daring to speak English that fries are better with ketchup than as poutine, so now he's folk-dancing to defend the village's honour.

Great news for ai safety, apparently mechanistic interpretability might save us after all!
interpretability might be the most important scientific problem in the world right now, as I don't think we can solve alignment if we don't know what we're building. I think I have good news about it. I co-authored early work in mechanistic interpretability at OpenAI and came away pessimistic, because neural networks appeared to fold into arbitrary tangled knots. years later, I started openai's first large-scale automated interpretability project, finding about 2% of neurons legible with the primitive tools we had with modern agentic tools and a much closer look, the picture looks totally different. the vast majority in models up to trillions of parameters are legible, and their circuits beautiful. many famous examples of tangled neurons turned out to be misunderstood. The roadblocks I expected mostly aren't there. I now think ambitious interpretability will be solved by the time we need it most, and possibly quite soon, as automated scientists keep improving. it may be a bitter lesson for interpretability: the simple thing, at absurd scale, works

Some patterns I've found useful when writing AI skills: 1. composing skills within one another. Saw this first with @mattpocockuk 's /grill-me and it has been really good for maintaining consistent behaviour 2. hiding skills behind a router. I have both /design and /testing-quality files that contain a bunch of useful skills and advice I've come across in references within the router skill 3. Freely editing skills from other devs but maintaining an UPSTREAM.md file of what I've changed so I can keep it up to date

Modem isn’t just for developers anymore. We've seen teams across every role use it to understand their customers, so we’re moving to .ai! Good thing @bentlegen registered both domains last year 😅

We've moved! Modem is now available at Give your team's agents the power to find, fix, and follow up on every customer concern
Considering using the new bun typechecker locally for agents and keep tsc in CI given how much faster it is. Too bad ts-rust doesn’t seem to work well because it’s even faster

Another angle to this is that dogs effectively stumbled onto what is for them the equivalent of artificial superintelligence 20,000 years ago. The Singularity already happened for dogs. They live in a world they cannot understand, surrounded by miraculous wonders they take entirely for granted, their every need seen to by entities whose thoughts they cannot begin to fathom. The result is that there are about a billion dogs on the planet now. Most of them are pretty happy. Almost none of them need to work. It worked out pretty well for them.

oh no, why did this Atlassian plugin show up in ChatGPT when I've never connected (and would never!) any of their products 😳
Hoping to add even more options soon!
Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5 from @AnthropicAI are now available in Modem. Pick the model that works best for you and your automations.
Connecting support tickets into Modem helps give your CS team more context on what customers are saying
We now integrate w/ @plainsupport 📬 Making it easy to combine support threads with the rest of your product context.
The Claude desktop app finally feels just about as good to use as the ChatGPT desktop app, really enjoying projects too now that I can run a chat both local or in the cloud
Worked with Claude to get all of my financial records as far back as I could go and had it analyze and put together a dashboard tracking my entire financial health with an encrypted sqlite db. Incredibly useful and I love that I can customize it as much as I want, like adding life events to the assets chart, monitoring subscriptions, and tax info all in one place. Keeping it up to date will be the tricky part but not impossible

At this point the models will just update in the background for you like an app I guess
As @alexwg notes we are on track for one a day by the start of next year
amazing
Claude Opus 5.5 has the best visual design of any model I have tested so far
Modem is now live on the @ChatGPT marketplace. Without leaving your agent: - Connect all your customer channels in a few clicks - Find the problems users hit that never reach you - Start fixing them in Codex Stop building in the dark.
