AWS is committing $1B to a new Forward-Deployed Engineering org for AI
These engineers will embed directly inside customer companies to help build and deploy AI agents in their own AWS environments.
Reuters says AWS expects engagements around 45 days, with engineers writing production-level code and helping customers adopt AI faster.
Early customers include the NBA and Ricoh.
This follows the same direction as OpenAI and Anthropic, which both launched their own enterprise AI services/FDE-style ventures this year.
The AI enterprise race is now about who can get AI systems deployed inside real companies.
