A mother went to pick up her son from an after-school program and was told she owed $85 in “unauthorized pickup fees.”
She immediately asked, “Unauthorized? I’m the person listed on his file.”
The receptionist showed her the computer. Her name was highlighted in red, and the system claimed she had picked him up at 4:17 p.m.—outside the approved pickup window.
The mother laughed because she had actually signed him out at 3:58.
She asked to see the original pickup record.
The receptionist hesitated.
