In an unbelievable journey, two and a half years after the tsunami, the Itsukushima Shrine Torii miraculously washed ashore in the U.S. state of Oregon. Thanks to the Portland Japanese Garden and their tremendous cooperation and respect, the "Miracle Torii" was lovingly returned to its original community in Hachinohe City in 2016. It is a profound symbol of endurance and the enduring ties across the Pacific Ocean. @PDXJapaneseGdn
