@thewoolshire Bought one of your pillows (bc of Twitter presence). I used to wake up with irritated eyes and stopped up nose. Those daily symptoms are gone since I switched in mid-March. I knew my old pillows were causing symptoms but wasn’t sure what to replace them with. Love the pillow.

The same can be said for textiles. Thousands of chemicals used in clothing and bedding, all virtually unregulated. Silicone treatments, ant-wrinkle formaldehyde starches, the list goes on. None of this is disclosed to you. In order to get purity, you either must look far beyond what the mainstream provides - or you must build the factory yourself. We decided on the latter 🤝

Find companies led by founders who are obsessed with doing things right. Every detail, small as it seems, matters to them - what you see, and what you don’t. From day one we have been unwilling to make compromises. We use organic sewing thread, while the industry uses Nylon. Our tags are organic cotton, industry uses tyvek (DuPont). We wrap in virgin American paper to avoid any plastic touching the pillow from recycled receipts, etc. Every single detail is important - not to advertise, but because we are convicted to make the absolute best we can to the glory of God.

We as a society want everything easy, fast, and convenient. I get it. But sometimes things in life are worth slowing down for. Our wool is grown by American ranches with sun, grass, and water. That's it. No acid bath, no polymer. Just a fiber the Lord made naturally, better than anything we'd engineer to replace it. When you strip the scales off that fiber and coat it in a synthetic resin so it can go through a hot wash cycle without compacting into a brick, you've solved one problem and created several others. You've lost a percentage of the moisture regulation. You've added a petrochemical coating whose in-use shedding behavior during sleep hasn't been measured. And you've taken something natural and adulterated it, all for convenience. We're not interested in that. We want people sleeping on the absolute best, the absolute most pure, the most unadulterated product we can make. That means our pillow needs a little more care than tossing it in a dryer. A bathtub with warm water and a wool-safe detergent, or a delicate machine cycle with a full load and no heat, then hang dry. Wool is naturally antimicrobial. It's naturally inhospitable to dust mites. Placing the pillow in direct sunlight every now and again is also great. For most people, washing the pillowcase regularly is enough. Ask any wool company you're considering buying from: is your wool superwashed? How is it processed? Where does it come from? A brand that knows its supply chain can answer that directly. We are proud to say that we can.

Great account generally but this is misleading. Not all wool is coated in plastic. This is the beauty of controlling your own supply. We own our own mill and process our wool ourselves. We of course do not treat our wool with any plastic. There are other ways to get wool to be washable, namely through an ozone-based process. @RykerClothing is doing this. Lastly, I would be careful plugging companies with shady supply chains. And Wool Room uses superwash in their “washable” pillows, which are their most popular. Do not blackpill. Do not make generalized statements to generate outrage. Wool is a miracle fiber. Just be careful and ask questions about sourcing.

Can’t help but think we are making a small difference here through driving awareness. “But Woolshire, why would you want wool prices to go higher when you sell wool goods?” The answer is simple: Better price for wool = more sheep (and thus wool) in this country = more wool infrastructure. This is the ultimate goal.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there! There is no more beautiful a calling than to be a mother. And to my own mother, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss you. Many years to all 🙏🏻

🚨 WOOL IS COATED IN PLASTIC This is a huge Scam that barely anyone knows about. Smartwool. Darn Tough. Most brands. They charge a zillion dollars for "wool" "natural" clothes, but the awful truth is that they're: • Burned w/CHLORINE • Coated w/NYLON polymer (plastic) They do this to make the wool more convenient & washable, not shrink or felt like real wool is supposed to. The resulting product is nothing like natural wool. And all that's actually touching your skin is PLASTIC. This coating releases microplastics & chemicals over time, that can be inhaled & absorbed (especially by hot, sweaty feet or while working out). They don't tell you this. They just charge you a bunch of money for the "wool" & act like they're selling you a natural, premium product. There's no way to know that they're doing this unless you ask the company. Specifically, ask if the use: • "Superwashing" • or "Hercosett 25" • or apply a polymer at any stage of processing • GOTS certified organic means it's safe as well MOST companies are doing this. A small handful are not. Namely: DILLING WOOLROOM MANTECO RAWGANIQUE NUI ORGANICS SERENDIPITY HOME OF WOOL Wearing natural & nontoxic fibers is super important, especially socks. (studies show nearly 100% of socks contain BPA & other horrible chemicals that are absorbed) But MODERN WOOL is far from natural or nontoxic. It's time for this scam to be exposed.

we offshored production and now we import the consequences
Praying over the goods you make is good for both the maker and the buyer. We remember all patrons of The Woolshire in our daily prayers, and all of those who have rooted for our success. The soulless factory does not understand this!

I am encouraged daily when I walk past our machinery and see that almost all of it is American made. Equipment designed to last more than a lifetime, made by fellow countrymen. The road to re-industrialize America is long, but we are doing it one pillow at a time.

People have this false idea that wool is hot. Rather, wool is temperature regulating - keeping you warm in winter and cool in summer. Wool pillows are the best pillows year round.
@raehartwellxx Wool is also weirdly great is summer for outdoor stuff since it stays dry in our humid months.
Aw the overlords of this earth are speaking about sustainability. I will sit my wool ass down and listen!
Your lab grown garbage won’t ever be a match for what the Lord has made naturally through sun, grass, and water.
Our family was looking at buying a new car for our growing family. New cars emit a lot of VOCs, so we were looking for a natural leather option. Found out that most new cars don't even have a real leather option anymore. The 2027 Telluride for example - even for their nearly 70k car -entirely synthetic. Looks like we need to go back to the old days.

In the US alone, 120 million cowhides go to the landfill instead of being turned into leather. Nearly 50% of global cowhides also get wasted. This isn't a problem of sourcing, this is a problem of systems. We are incredibly wasteful. Leather and natural materials can't be patented, and that's why Gates and Bezos are knee deep in the Lab Grown market. Don't fool yourself into thinking they're here to help humanity.

Recently ordered our pillows from @thewoolshire and I had to share. The packaging was so thoughtful. Their brochure is stunning and they even included a handwritten note, which you just don’t see anymore. It felt personal, intentional, and honestly refreshing. The pillows themselves are incredibly well made. These pictures truly don’t do them justice at all so I apologize for that, but the material and quality are beautiful. They’re made with natural wool filling and encased in organic cotton, and you can feel the difference immediately. We’ve recently moved to all linen bedding in our home and I’ve been on the hunt for high quality natural fiber pillows, so I’m really glad I came across this company on X. We even ordered a toddler pillow for our three year old. If you’re looking for natural wool pillows with real craftsmanship behind them, definitely check out @thewoolshire . These are the kind of pillows that are made to last, not replaced every few year. Just genuinely impressive quality.
