50/50 marriages are destroying relationships. When you split everything down the middle (bills, chores, childcare), you're not building a partnership. You're building a business arrangement between two roommates who happen to share a bed. Being totally dependent on each other as husband and wife is good because it gives you more motivation to work through any marital problems that come up. The modern 50/50 version of marriage just makes it easier to break up when times get tough. A biblical marriage is not 50/50. It's 100/100. The husband gives everything to providing, protecting, and leading. The wife gives everything to nurturing, supporting, and building the home. Neither is keeping score because both are fully committed to their role. The happiest marriages I've ever seen are the ones where each person stopped counting and started serving.
