An exceptional team led by one of the sharpest minds I’ve met. Congrats to @metrics_co
Standard Metrics (@metrics_co) has raised a $20M Series B led by 8VC (@8vc) to accelerate innovation in the private markets! Trillions of dollars of economic activity in the private markets still run on spreadsheets, email threads, and PDFs. This critical ecosystem remains surprisingly analog and inefficient despite financing many of the world’s most innovative companies. This problem matters. A better-functioning innovation economy would lead to new big technological breakthroughs, life-saving medicines, jobs, and game-changing new products. AI expands both the urgency and the scope of this opportunity. New AI models have fundamentally changed how data can be organized, analyzed, and acted upon, and they are beginning to drive rapid software adoption in an industry that has historically lagged behind. We believe AI-native infrastructure will reshape the private markets over the coming decade. Two years ago, we bet our company on the idea of building the AI-native portfolio management platform for venture capital and private equity. That was the single most consequential decision in our history: it led us to create the first MCP server in our space, launch an AI-driven document processing service, and build cutting-edge agentic reporting and analytics tools. Today, we’re proud to support more than 150 investment firms who collectively manage over $400B, along with more than 10,000 of their portfolio companies. 30% of the Forbes Midas List are customers of Standard Metrics. But we’ve still only scratched the surface: we work with roughly 1% of active global VC/PE firms. We’ve raised roughly $50M to date. Most of that capital has come from our customers. Investors in this round alongside 8VC include Salesforce Ventures, Spark Capital, January Capital, First Trust Capital Partners, Socii Capital, Kindergarten Ventures, Calm Ventures, Gaingels, and more. It’s been an honor to partner with some of the world’s most forward-thinking investors on this journey. Thank you so much to our team, customers, investors, and supporters. We’re just getting started!

Live for everyone today. Most funds report holdings every 30-45 days and that data gets stale very fast. @UseCorgi publishes daily.
Corgi ETFs are live in the Index Funds API. Every holding with exact weights, shares, and market value across 29 thematic ETFs. Updated daily - connect via MCP or REST.
Today’s market infra was built 30+ years ago. It was made for humans staring at terminals, not billions of agents running 24/7. We're rebuilding it for agents, backed by YC.

SEC EDGAR is an amazing data source. But this wasn’t always the case. Before 1984, companies filed paper reports with the SEC. If you were researching stocks, getting filings could’ve meant physically visiting the SEC. Then we went electronic: •1984: EDGAR pilot begins •1993: mandatory electronic filing begins •1995: EDGAR filings go online •2009: XBRL filing format introduced It took 25 years to go from paper filings to the electronic data you pull from EDGAR today. And the current system works well. But it’s designed for humans, not agents. There are 100+ filing types, 10K+ XBRL types, custom concepts, and millions of documents. Yes, your agent can query SEC data directly and analyze it. But your agent will burn time and tokens finding filings, reading them, and getting lost. The corpus is still too lumpy and unstructured for meaningful, repeatable deep research. We need a translation layer that is structured, cited, searchable, and connected at all times. We’re all overpaying for stock market data. It’s worse if you’re a professional investor. In the 1960s, electronic market data was a professional product, for brokers and traders. Then in 1984, retail investors wanted in so exchanges made discounted rates for them. This professional / non-professional distinction stuck around for 40+ years. Today most providers still charge more for professional use. Why? For the same usage, the infra cost to serve a professional is the ~same as an individual. They charge more because “that’s how it is”. If yours charges more, ask exactly what you’re paying more for. I think this legacy pricing model is outdated. So @findatasets doesn’t price based on who you are. Only on how much you consume.
