backtesting data gives you so much mental edge that you probably don’t even realize. having 200-500 trades in your excel sheet and seeing how even 9 losses in a row can happen - and you still end up very profitable by the end of the year - helps you handle those 9 losses much better than if you didn’t have that data. people who say backtesting isn’t important because the market doesn’t run on past data either: 1. don’t have an edge themselves 2. are selling you a dream (in a discord or pdf format) 3. both
