Webhooks often contain minimal info to keep the data payload size small. That can mean providing an object ID instead of the object details. (e.g. Contact ID instead of Contact Name, Email, etc.) That requires another step in the automation to lookup the object by ID in order to get the full info about the object. So it becomes a webhook + API request in order to get the object info.
