Rothia santali sp. nov., strain AR01^T, was isolated from the hypocotyl tissue of a sandalwood (Santalum album L.) seedling exhibiting stunted and abnormal growth. The sample was collected from an insect-free sandalwood nursery at the Indian Wood Science and Technology (IWST) institute in Bangalore, India.
