Your Word says, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge”, and so I begin this prayer by humbly revering You. I acknowledge that apart from You I know nothing of lasting value. Teach me to fear You in the proper, reverent way – not with terror, but with awe and respect – because that is where wise living starts. I want to live as one who honors You above all else, for when I do, I am at the very beginning of knowledge and understanding. Please forgive me for the times I have been a “fool” despising wisdom and instruction, as Proverbs warns. I don’t want to go my own ignorant way; I want to follow Your way. In Jesus Name, Amen
