10 years ago today, @SpaceX performed the first integrated test with Dragon 2, the pad abort test. It was a huge step in our human spaceflight program as it proved an integrated launch escape system was feasible and set the stage for development of the flight version of Dragon 2. Spaceflight launch is special because many people work so hard on a goal, often for years, only for it to be over in a matter of minutes. The outcome is usually binary. Success and pure joy or failure and sadness. Either way… excitement is guaranteed and it’s worth every single second of the hard work.
