Exactly.
A barrage of posts results in lower average views per post, but perhaps higher total views of all your content.
This is to avoid users getting too much content all at once from one account and getting annoyed.
If they really want to see everything you post, they can switch to the Following tab.

I wish more people understood this on 𝕏:
if you post less frequently then each of your posts has a higher percentage chance of being seen by any of your followers
this isn't because your directly punished by the algorithm, it's just for the sake of variety and because of math
if you want more views only any one post then make each post count
of course if you don't care as much about the numbers then fire away!
