My childhood trauma.
Made me look in all the wrong places for acceptance and love
I made choices I wish I hadn’t
Self soothed the fuck out of drugs and alcohol
Pretend I was okay when I wanted to die.
& I made sure everyone else around me was happy.
In the hope they would like me
Things my mental illness sometimes stops me doing..
• picking up the phone
• leaving the house
• eating healthy
• exercising
• laughing
• doing my hair or makeup
• getting dressed
Sometimes being able to do one of these things is a victory.
