I tweeted about “Screwtape” separately, actually. I was thinking about the part where he says war is bad for devils because a bunch of people die after having a chance to repent, which is morally desirable. Lewis’s Christianity is a kind of masochistic counterpart to the sadism of the religion of the Aztecs.
