Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa used humour to deliver a pointed political message on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
He said Donald Trump cannot give away territory that does not belong to the United States and reaffirmed Syria’s claim over the Golan Heights, rejecting Israeli sovereignty over the disputed plateau.
