Studio Ghibli president Kenichi Yoda has spoken in Asturias about the studio’s future, AI, and Hayao Miyazaki’s continued work.
> On AI and animation: “Imagine two restaurants: one where the food is made by AI and another by people. I would undoubtedly choose the latter.”
> On Ghibli’s creative philosophy: “Before being a company, Ghibli is a studio, a place to create art.”
Yoda confirmed that Miyazaki, now 85, still draws every day and thinks about what Ghibli could create next, though no new feature film is currently confirmed.
“We don’t work with deadlines. We don’t set those kinds of goals.”
