RAC(@RAC):you can just build stuff now this is a sensor that tracks how much water is left in my berkey water filter. my tap water is pretty good quality but it's an extra assurance knowing it's properly filtered and without buying bottled water. it's easy to forget to refill it because there's no visual cue of how much is left until you literally try to fill a cup. so I built a 3d printed scale with opus 5.5, it sourced the parts, designed the shape, wrote the esp32 code, and now i have a simple visual cue for anybody in the house of when it needs to be refilled. I also get a notification through home assistant. is this necessary? absolutely not, but it's one less thing to think about.
