IIf we’re being completely honest, why do Arsenal fans still despise players like RVP, Adebayor and even Ashley Cole? It’s not simply because they left. It’s how and when they left. They walked away at a time when Arsenal needed them most, and in some cases, they moved directly to rivals. That’s what made the betrayal feel personal. Now look at Gabriel Martinelli. Is Martinelli the best player Arsenal have ever had? Absolutely not. Has his form been inconsistent at times? Of course. But one thing you can’t question is his commitment to the badge. He has given Arsenal everything. He has worked, fought, tracked back, carried the ball, scored important goals and, most importantly, represented the club with professionalism. Even when things haven’t gone his way, he has continued to put in the work. That matters. Football isn't only about goals, assists and highlight reels. Loyalty, effort and commitment should count for something too. You can criticise Martinelli's performances without rewriting his entire Arsenal story. If he eventually leaves, he should leave with our respect because, unlike some before him, he never stopped giving everything for the shirt. We don't have to pretend he's world-class to appreciate what he's done for Arsenal. Criticism is fair. Disrespect isn't.
