I’m increasingly skeptical of the “AI means we should think less about code” narrative.
What I’m seeing is AI-generated code turning into a real liability in practice. Someone still has to own what ships and carry the pager when it breaks, regardless of whether the code came from a human or an agent.
The backlash to “vibe coding” feels inevitable. More code doesn’t automatically mean better outcomes, and treating less thinking as progress is a mistake.
