At a SmallSat meeting yesterday, SpaceX revealed that more than 30 satellite operators shared flight-path data for over 700 objects in the previous week, up from the 500+ objects disclosed in early June. SpaceX says it has no plans to monetize the service: “We do satellite internet. We’re not trying to make money off SSA.”, as per SpaceNews. SpaceX is using Starlink’s scale and technology to provide free safety infrastructure for the wider satellite industry and help keep low Earth orbit safer for everyone.
