Guitar Gods Unleashed(@gguworld):Underrated Guitar Hero: Marty Friedman. 1/5 – Roots Born 1962 in Washington D.C. Picked up guitar at 14 after seeing KISS live in 1976. His family moved to Hawaii, where he joined a band literally called Hawaii and recorded three albums before anyone outside the islands knew his name. He connected with Shrapnel Records in 1981, but it took six years to make real noise. In 1986 he recruited a 16-year-old Jason Becker to form Cacophony. Their debut, Speed Metal Symphony, is still one of the most intense twin-guitar albums ever recorded. Most fans discovered it too late.
