🚨 FERTILIZER UPDATE 🚨 Following @POTUS’s temporary relief from countervailing duties on Moroccan phosphate fertilizer, OCP North America’s first shipment has arrived in America — approximately 54,000 metric tons, enough to support fertilizer application across more than 1 million acres. This is immediate relief while we build the long-term solution. America imports roughly 50% of the 20 million tons of fertilizer we use each year. That is why President Trump is lowering costs NOW while reshoring fertilizer production at Trump speed. His action is expected to save farmers $1.8 BILLION annually. But America cannot remain dependent on imports for critical farm inputs. That’s why @USDA is working across the Trump Administration to cut red tape, advance permitting reform, strengthen competition, and expand American fertilizer production. We are coordinating with @ENERGY on Energy Dominance Financing, working hand-in-hand with @Interior and @SecretaryBurgum to secure critical fertilizer inputs like phosphate and potash, and partnering with DOJ through a competition MOU to protect farmers from anti-competitive practices in agricultural input markets. We are already seeing results. Through federal coordination, the Administration helped move the world’s largest ammonia plant by nameplate capacity through federal permitting review in roughly 45 days — after companies were told it could take years. And @USDA is investing $500 MILLION through the FIELDS Program to expand American fertilizer production, storage, transportation, and infrastructure. Relief today.
