This went on for maybe four minutes. Committed to the bit at that point. My husband came outside and asked what I was doing. Told him I was in a standoff. He asked with what. I pointed. The possum turned its head to look at him. Husband waved. Possum blinked. Husband went "huh" and walked back inside. The possum turned back to me. We stayed like that for another six minutes before my leg cramped and I had to sit down. The possum waddled away. Felt like I lost.
