Marvell says its second-generation Alaska A 1.6T copper-link chip supports cable runs of more than six meters, twice the reach of its predecessor.
The digital signal processor (DSP) uses a 3nm process. Marvell lists its power consumption at 12.8 watts.
Marvell announced the chip alongside its new Alaska E 3.2T retimer on Oct. 13. Both devices are now sampling to customers for high-speed links within AI systems.
