Wall St Engine(@wallstengine):ALTERA PREPS $2B+ IPO AS EARLY AS THIS YEAR Silver Lake and $INTC-backed chipmaker Altera is preparing an IPO that could raise more than $2B, with a confidential filing expected in the coming weeks and a listing possible as early as this year. Barclays, Citi, JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley have been tapped as underwriters. Intel acquired Altera for $16.7B in 2015, then sold a 51% stake to Silver Lake last year in a deal valuing the company at $8.75B. Intel still owns the remaining 49%. Altera makes programmable chips used across data centers, telecom, industrial equipment, aerospace and defense, and AI applications. The offering would be one of the largest semiconductor IPOs since Arm’s 2023 debut.
