Howard Schultz took charge of Starbucks in the 1980s, taking a regional coffee company with 11 stores and pouring it into a global brand with 35,000 locations. He served three stints as CEO, most recently stepping down in early 2023. Since then he's focusing on his VC firm and the Schultz Family Foundation, which invests in training and hiring veterans and young people, helping veterans ensure a smooth transition back into civilian life. Schultz has carved out his spot on the #Forbes250# list, featuring people actively changing how America works, builds and invents. Get the full list: Photo: Stephen Brashear via Getty Images
