Over 100 fan-shaped beehives hang like amber from a banyan tree on Jingmai Mountain in southwest China’s Yunnan. Thriving in the pristine local ecosystem, the bees produce fragrant honey from tea blossoms, store food in amber-colored combs and raise their young in dark brown ones.

Goodfire CEO @eric_ho predicts aligning AI agent swarms will be more like aligning a beehive or ant colony than aligning any individual person: "There's just emergent properties anytime you're dealing with a new type of thing. The way to think about this is like, yeah, it's a swarm. It's much more like aligning a beehive or an ant colony than any individual person." "This is a new model of the world that we're in, where you have this ecosystem of agents that are all interacting with each other in these crazy ways, and some of them are collaborating, and some of them may be adversarial with each other." "It increases the complexity of the problem, but science fiction writers have been writing about this future for a very long time. This wasn't altogether surprising, but it's a pretty interesting wrinkle that it's happening soon." @GoodfireAI

HiveBits founder Nemanja says their hardware lifts production up to 50%, and the marketplace solves the distribution problem beekeepers have "Our internal tests show that a beehive on hardware produces up to 50% more. What that means in money we don't know, because every beekeeper is different." "Most beekeepers right now do beekeeping as a side job, and most of these people are already retired. They do it as a hobby, and they always have the same problem. They don't know how to distribute their own product, because they don't have marketing skills, they don't have sales skills, they just rely on a really small local community." "In my case I don't have that issue, because we run an apitherapy center, we know how to do online sales, we know how to do marketing. People come to our apitherapy center from everywhere, from Israel, from Sweden, from the United States, from Canada." "So what we're going to offer them. First, hardware to help them optimize their work, and of course the marketplace where they can sell their own products. And for us it's good, because we're always going to take a cut of every sale that goes through our platform." FT @0xBeeSmart @hivebits_io
