From this to this. Growing your own food is a superpower. Could there be a better “hobby”?
It’s 2026. Paper money is worthless. Nobody can afford gas or groceries anymore. This is the new store of wealth in America.
I hearby propose the following amendment to The Constitution of the United States… Being necessary to the food security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Chickens, shall not be infringed!

We shouldn’t have to live like this, begging to HOAs and municipalities to have chickens. Every home in America should legally be able to possess chickens. We need a second amendment for chickens.

Modern longevity gurus never talk about gardening as a method for living longer, but there’s something to it.
If you’re ever in an emergency situation or down on your luck, you can eat these… leaves, flowers, roots and all. They are actually very good for you.
I’m composting for the first time. All homeowners generate excess organic matter… kitchen scraps, leaves, grass clippings. This can all be composted on site to reduce waste and make food for soil and plants. Try it with me… or teach me!

You should start composting! It’s messy and smelly and beautiful! Once you start composting, you realize how much you throw away that you could compost instead. This year, I’m saving my grass clippings and turning it into free compost.

Worms are amazing! They loosen, aerate, and fertilize the ground. Worms truly create living soil. Worms can turn over as much as 25 tons of soil per acre per year. And their poop is pure gold!

You can just build your own raised garden beds. You don’t need to buy a bunch of expensive stuff. I built this one myself using free logs.
Fresh salad anyone? I grew this lettuce from seeds from the library. Nothing fancy. Just a shelf in my living room.
Grow your own potatoes! I planted these on Easter. Homegrown potatoes are cheap, tax free, electricity free, plastic free and highly nutritious! You got this!
