The Chernobyl reactor fire released approximately 400 times more radioactive material than the Hiroshima atomic bomb, according to IAEA reports. The engineering response was extraordinary: 600,000 liquidators deployed, a concrete sarcophagus built in 206 days, and a 2,600 km2 exclusion zone established. The New Safe Confinement - a 108-metre steel arch built to cover the original sarcophagus - was completed in 2016. It is the largest movable structure ever built. Designed to last 100 years. The disaster was catastrophic. The engineering that contained it was remarkable.

Secret Chernobyl explosion footage has surfaced. Men in full protective suits move through thick fog carrying sealed containers while the reactor structure looms in the distance. Civilians and emergency teams share the same contaminated streets in the immediate aftermath. No official archive has released these sequences in full. The frames keep circulating decades later. Was this simply delayed documentation… or visual evidence of the true scale that was never meant for public eyes? #Chernobyl# #LostTapes# #NuclearDisaster# #ForbiddenFootage# #SecretArchives# #1986# #Unexplained# #LeakedVideo#

Wilderness and war are changing Chernobyl forever ✍️ Harry Stourton
⚠️ Is Russia preparing its “Flying Chernobyl”? The aggressor’s terrifying new superweapon Aircraft used to track missile trajectories and measure radiation have been deployed to Novaya Zemlya, home to Russia’s main nuclear testing site — just as they were ahead of previous tests of the nuclear-powered Burevestnik missile. In the West, it has been dubbed the “Flying Chernobyl”: an accident involving the missile could potentially spread radioactive contamination over a vast area. And accidents are hardly unheard of — nearly all 13 Burevestnik tests conducted between 2017 and 2019 ended in failure. Putin later claimed “successful” launches in 2023 and 2025, but what happened to the missile afterward was never shown.

**Crawling from radioactive waters near Chernobyl, a giant fish-like creature with humanoid arms and a gaping mouth emerges onto the shore. Its mutated form is both horrifying and mesmerizing. Is this the result of long-term radiation effects or an undiscovered species thriving in forbidden zones? The footage continues to fuel intense global speculation.** #ChernobylMonster# #MutatedCreature# #RadiationHorror# #Cryptid# #Unexplained# #AncientMysteries# #ViralTruth#

Hey @elonmusk , Chernobyl Units 1–3 RBMK-1000 reactors could, in theory (though very hard), be retrofitted to generate 2.9 GW of electricity, enough to power 1.2 million Rubin GPUs. This is because Unit 4 was the one that exploded. Maybe @nvidiaai is willing to look into backstopping this. Have you looked into this?
