#Breaking#| Following the hotel fire incident in Kolkata’s New Market area that claimed nine lives, West Bengal Fire Department has issued show-cause notices to 9 guest houses and 4 restaurants-cum-bars on Mirza Ghalib Street. They have been asked to respond within 24 hours as to why a Closure Order under Section 37A of the Fire Act should not be issued against them for non-compliance with fire-safety measures, despite repeated notices directing the establishments to rectify the identified shortcomings.

Closure notices have been served to 15 hotels in Tarapith for allegedly operating without fire licences and violating fire safety norms, following a recent massive fire at a hotel that claimed 9 lives and left several others injured.
