Bahrain Calls for International Action to Stop Repeated Iranian Aggression Manama, June 28 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s strongest condemnation of Iran’s renewed attack on its territory, stating that Bahrain had once again been targeted with a number of ballistic missiles and drones. The ministry described this as a serious escalation demonstrating that Tehran’s actions are neither isolated incidents nor one-off events, but rather a deliberate policy and systematic pattern of repeated aggression against the Kingdom’s sovereignty and the security of its citizens and residents. The ministry noted that Bahrain had previously condemned Iran’s aggression in an earlier statement, reminding Tehran of its breach of its commitments and of the international will embodied in United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026). It said that today’s renewed attack, on Sunday, June 28, 2026, confirms the Kingdom’s earlier warnings and shows that the Iranian regime continues its course despite international condemnation and despite commitments it had made. However, the ministry added that repeated attacks will neither impose a new reality nor weaken Bahrain’s determination or the steadfastness of its people. The ministry stated that this repeated aggression eliminates any possible justification and demonstrates clear premeditation, as the attack comes just one day after Tehran had committed, under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding signed on June 17, 2026, to a permanent cessation of military operations and respect for the sovereignty of the countries in the region. It said this leaves Iran solely responsible for violating its commitments and undermining what remains of the prospects for de-escalation and regional stability. Emphasizing that Tehran’s continued defiance of the international community requires a firm response, the ministry called on the United Nations Security Council to convene an emergency session and fulfill its responsibilities by ensuring the implementation of Resolution 2817 (2026), bringing an end to the ongoing aggression, and holding those responsible accountable. The Kingdom of Bahrain affirmed that these repeated attacks are directed not only against Bahrain but also constitute a threat to the security of the entire Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) system, based on the fundamental principle of the GCC Joint Defense Agreement that an attack against any member state is considered an attack against all, and that a threat to one is a threat to all. The Kingdom further expressed its pride in Gulf solidarity and the unity of its shared security interests, while reaffirming its full and legitimate right to defend its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity by all means permitted under international law. It also held the Iranian regime fully responsible for any escalation resulting from its continued attacks.

The “South China Sea arbitration” violates fundamental principles of international law, including state consent and pacta sunt servanda, contravenes UNCLOS itself, and, still more importantly, runs counter to the basic facts of the South China Sea. The so-called “award” is nothing but a worthless piece of paper that is illegal, null and void, and has no binding force. China does not accept or recognize the “award,” and opposes and does not accept any claim or action based on it. China’s territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests in the South China Sea shall not be affected by the “award” under any circumstances. If the “award” were to be taken as a standard, many countries’ islands and reefs would be denied the basis for claiming maritime rights and interests. May we ask, have those countries supporting the “award” voluntarily waived the maritime rights and interests deriving from their relevant islands and reefs? China urges the relevant countries to earnestly respect China’s territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests in the South China Sea, stop stirring up trouble over the South China Sea issue, and cease undermining peace and stability in the South China Sea. 🔗

In a letter this week addressed to the President of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche wrote that the Department of Justice rejects any assertion of jurisdiction by the ICC over Americans. The United States is not a party to the Rome Statute and has never consented to the ICC’s authority. As a matter of international law, a treaty cannot bind a non-consenting country. Accordingly, the ICC has no jurisdiction over Americans — anywhere in the world — and any attempt to assert such authority is illegitimate, unlawful, and a direct affront to the sovereignty of the United States.
